Wintersday Farming suggestions
Hi everyone,
Wintersday event is around the corner and I'd really like to farm a lot this year (rainy weather, vacation from work/college, single, Monk closing on GWAMM, new comp, the reasons add up ).
I'm not much of a farmer though, not sure what people usually do during Wintersday event for the Sweet/Party/Drunk points. During the year I didn't manage to get many collectibles (mostly Decayed Orr Emblems, but even then it's not even a full stack, lol).
So I'm guessing killing lots of stuff quickly fast would be the best method of getting Snowmen Summoners or Candy Cane Shards, for example, Raptors?
I have an Assassin but he doesn't even have Shadow Form (never farmed much at all). I could also make an Ele, whatever farms Raptors or similar the fastest.
Thanks, suggestions greatly appreciated.

well im not sure if this is against the rules but.... you could try farming vaettir HM in eotn w/ an ele that has OF and stoneflesh.. its not hard and u can kill around 36 of them in 2mins ;D (also, i found this is better then raptors, but ive done several things on this and its just me... so id go w/ raptors). but SF is exspected to be nerfed by wintersday so come w/ a back-up plan ^_^

for a chill farm just go outside yaks bend in normal mode with a minion master (dosent even have to be necro) with some energy management and kill the stone summits.
i ususally get around 30 stone summit badges a run from this when i did it before. easiest farm ever.
at wintersday you can sell each badge for like 500gp
(last time i did it was first wintersday tho, now i just buy things. this means that this information might be outdated a bit but go ahead and try if you want )

*GASP* Say what?
All kidding aside, there are two great ways to farm Wintersday. If you're going purely for drop rate, one of if not the, top farm is the Warrior/Necro Raptor farm. No SF Required
Number two is the Snowman quest that many people do with the VASTLY minuscule chance of getting yourself a small little Polar Bear.

Thanks a lot for the ideas.
Coolpb: Yep my sin only has dagger elites, I love to play him occasionally (Critical Agility is superb) but never cared much for SF lol.
I like the W/N suggestion for raptors best - seems more reliable than trying to get the Mini Bear (besides if I found one I'd not sell it and continue to be as poor as before, I bet).
I happen to have a Warrior as well although I'll need to ready him up for that, running to Rata Sum, ascending, getting skills, etc (I only have him because I wanted to make use of a certain armor/weaponset, lol, he's still a terrible W/Mo without any elite skill).
If he does well at the farm that's awesome, one more reason to keep him - and I'll get enough rep to make Asuran glasses for him. *highfive*
BTW, at Wintersday do Candies/Party/Drinks drop normally? Or I can only get Candy Cane Shards then trade them away? I really don't remember from previous festivals (missed most), sorry for the noob question but I'm really new to being active at a festival.

I highly suggest farming Gargoyle skulls outside Norlani if Raptor farming gets bored
They drop like 15 skulls every run (1 run = 2-3 minutes)
You can trade them in Ascalon for Sweets/Party/Booze

They're lvl 6-ish, so any class with some spammable AoE damage, running boost and a self-heal pretty much does it.
I'm using
Searing Flames
Liquid Flame
Glowing Gaze
Flare
Glyph of Lesser Energy
Fire Attunement
Aura of Restoration
Summon Ruby Djinn

I'll give that a shot, but if anyone else has a working vaettir build, it would be nice if he can post it.

Like he said before......
The are lvl 6^^
You can farm those with nearly every build which has a bit of selfheal and Aoe Dmg...
Monk with heal skills, block stances & Smite skills like Symbol of Wrath or Balthasar's Aura...
/Edit: those eotn skills are cool too... Light of Deldrimor & "By Ural's Hammer!" for example...
you can do that with nearly every proffession with 2nd monk...
just pull some big groups together and boom^^

Aw c`mon windy, each time there are some event related drops there is the same topic - where to farm? It`s either raptors or vaettirs. Raptors - warr, ele, sin. Vaettirs - ele, and that`s about it. There are dozens of builds for these areas, just need to find them here or on pvx.

This or a Rt/Me to Arcane Echo VwK, a weapon spell two negate the degen. I find it super fast. Run past everything (without a speed boost, will break aggro) Aggro everything and remain in the center of the temple thing on top of the hill. Watch them drop as VwK does its work.

I used to do it with a Ranger touch build
Haven't played in well over a year so I'm not sure if that's nerfed... I doubt it is though
